An Infinite Love Story by Chanel Cleeton

Is this a love story?  Sure, it’s right there in the title.  However this book is so much more.  It’s a glimpse of 1960s Space Race.  It’s a look at the role the astronaut wives had—the pressure, emotions and sacrifices—and as a military spouse it felt accurate to emotions I’ve felt at times.  Then the icing of the cake in the magical realism aspect of this story!  Cleeton seamlessly weaves together these themes of romance, history, and magical realism.  I was in a reading slump after being on vacation and this got me out of it…I couldn’t put it down!

Told in a dual timeline (my favorite!) of present day (1968) when a shuttle attempting to orbit the moon goes missing.  The past timeline is many years prior when Joe and Vivian fell in love.  If you enjoyed TJR’s Atmosphere, I think you’ll enjoy this one too.  Space theme stories are having a moment, so go ahead and add this to your TBR!
