I felt transported right to Block Island in this story! This story is told from the present day with flashbacks to previous summers spent on Block Island. The main character, Ruth, is one to both root for and one who will make you feel a little frustrated—we’ve all been young once! She’s also dealt with a lot in her young life. She lost her mother to cancer at seventeen, then had her father—unable to handle his grief—send her to live with a women named Diana she had never heard of! The found family between Ruth and Diana was just so beautiful. Full of love, family friendships, secrets and grief exploration this is one that you’re going to want in your beach bag this summer!
