📚MAY FAVORITES 📚
FINALLY, sharing my FAVORITES from last month. I’m always about 7-10 days behind! 🤣
▪️Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by debut author Jessica Guerrieri - “Maybe this version of my life was what I was meant to find all along.” An honest look at alcoholism for the addict + family and friends. The MFC must uncover the villain of her story, learn how to ask for help, and decide if the family rejected will be her salvation or ultimate undoing.
▪️The Names by Florence Knapp - I struggled with the audio on this. Print version is the way to go!
▪️Speak To Me Of Home by Jeanine Cummins - What a storyteller Jeanine Cummins is!
“She both belonged and did not belong at all”
“I think the reason this is so hard is that it feels like you have to choose between the two halves of yourself.”
▪️It’s a Love Story by Annabel Monaghan - Annabel Monaghan just doesn’t miss! She’s 4/4. Add this to your summer #tbr
▪️What Will People Think? By Sara Hamdan - Coming-of-age. Cultural identity. Full of family secrets. Funny too!
▪️32 Days in May by Betty Corrello - I still need to review this. Oopsie! This is a fabulous romance with chronic illness representation (lupus) It’s about pivoting in life. It’s got a great summer vibe on the Jersey Shore.
▪️The Sideways Life of Denny Voss by Holly Kennedy - Denny Voss is a character I will never forget! Read for yourself and see.
▪️Notes on Infinity by Austin Taylor - Another fantastic debut. Reviews are all over the place. I like dramas and am not afraid of messy characters. Interesting academia and start-up company story.
▪️Beach House Rules by Kristy Woodson Harvey - KWH is the queen of summer coastal stories! She’s another that doesn’t miss!
▪️The Other Side of Now by Paige Harbison - I sound like a broken record, but this is another fabulous debut! It makes you think. It’s about second chances. A sliding doors/Freaky Friday magical realism story that tackles grief, dreams and love.
