Belladonna

Title: Belladonna

Author: Adalyn Grace

Publisher: Little Brown

Genre: YA Fantasy

I’M IN LOVE WITH DEATH! Phew, now that I’ve got that off my chest. Seriously. This book!

“Hello, Little Bird. Care to dance?” <—- I mean, swoon

For as long as Signa Farrow has been alive the people in her life have fallen like stars…

Signa ends up at Thorne Grove with the elusive Hawthornes, her last remaining relatives. Everyone else who has every been her caretaker has died. You see she has a gift to see spirits, including Death. At Thorne Grove things aren’t what they seem, everyone is either in mourning from the loss of their wife and mother or busy taking care of the daughter who is ill. Signa thinks foul play is involved and makes a deal with Death for help to figure out what is going on! Little by little she looks forward to their meetings more and more…

“Stop worrying about society and playing its game, hoping you’ll be good enough, Death urged her. There is no such thing as true goodness there is only perception.”

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This one ends nicely, but sets up for book 2. Can’t wait for that. This has gothic vibes, is full of mystery, romance (like how brilliant is the author to make you fall in love with Death!? IYKYK), its atmospheric. Honestly, I was blown away. I really just bought this for the pretty cover and because @mommaleighellensbooknook said to. (Have you ever watched one of our @bookfriendsbookclub happy hours!? We give great book recommendations 😉) I’m slowly loving fantasy more and more, but I need the easy YA stuff with subplot. Not ready for too much world building…yet. 🤣
