For Your Own Good

This was my first Samantha Downing book and it certainly won’t be my last. Talk about entertaining! I read it in nearly one sitting and in less than 24 hours. If you are in a reading slump . . . this is the book for you!

📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚

Title: For Your Own Good

Author Samantha Downing

Publisher: Berkley

Genre: Thriller

This book is set at very wealthy private school. Hello, dark academia vibes! And You basically know the killer from the very beginning BUT you don’t know how it ends or will they even be caught!? Dun…Dun…Dun… I felt like I was playing a game of CLUE!

It switches narrators between the teachers and students and they all are pretty unreliable! I loved the short chapters and many of them felt like a mini cliffhanger to make you want to keep going!

Despite this book being a dark and funny thriller (can thrillers be funny!?), I loved the author tackling the issue of having wealth and stopping at nothing to get what you want. Something that, like it or not, is very real.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Solid 4 stars from me. I was highly, highly entertained. This book will have you scratching you heading wondering whether it’s poison, suicide, killing off the competition, or even revenge killings. I thought of it all as I was reading. Also, you may never look at your keurig or a glass of milk the same. IYKYK.
