JANUARY 2026 FAVS

-My absolute favorite FAVORITE comes out this Tuesday, 2/10, and is March’s @bookfriendsbookclub pick—Keeper of Lost Children by Sadeqa Johnson. I loved this 3 POV story and the audiobook has 3 narrators including a personal favorite male narrator, Adam Lazarre-White (If you are a S.A. Cosby fan you will recognize this voice!) Thank you @simon.audio! Sadeqa tackles the history of “operation brown babies” during WWII brilliantly.

-That’s Not How it Happened by Craig Thomas - A smart, funny, bighearted novel follows a family turned upside down after Hollywood decides to make a movie version of their lives.

I’m not a crier and this book made me tear up! Do yourself a favor and listen to the audiobook! This is written by executive producer Craig Thomas of How I Met Your Mother. The actor who played Ted in the show, Josh Rador, does the male narration. The actress who played Robin, Colbie Smulders, does the female narration. And the character Emmett in this book who has Down Syndrome is narrated by Kevin Inannuci who is an Actor that has Down Syndrome in real life. Well done with representation!

-Good People by Patmeena Sabit - Thank you @prhaudio for this FULL CAST audiobook! Really unique story telling told in a transcript interview style. Everyone close to the Sharaf family shares testimony about the Sharaf family—in the aftermath of their teenage daughter’s death—except the Sharif’s themselves! A thought-provoking story on immigration, culture, and if a family was actually living the American Dream.

-This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page - Reviewed this one last week! PS. I Love You, but make it British and Bookish! All over #bookstagram for good reason!

-Honestly I’m Totally Faking It by Amanda Gambill - My first backlist of the year thanks to my library and hoopla! This cover doesn’t do this book justice. Excellent fake dating fun!

-Saoirse by Charleen Hurtubise - An Irish author’s first US published book! Out 2/24. For fans of Colm Toibin and Claire Keegan. A story of secrets and a traumatic past. More to come!
