Love, Like Apples by Jeff Zentner

🫶 {Just dropped as a November @bookofthemonth pick, but I was lucky enough to listen early thanks to @librofm! The audio is narrated by Charlie Thurston who handles Zentner’s beautiful prose brilliantly!}
❤️ Elevator Pitch: A lyrical, deeply felt story of an artist and the great love that defined his life, set against the electric, delirious backdrop of 1970s New York City and the tumultuous years prior.
🫶 Few have the ability to write so thoughtful and beautiful like Zentner. The way he can turn something so ugly — beautiful — and make you feel so much hope despite the challenges his characters face is nothing short of amazing. Â
I loved the characters.
I loved the 1970s time period.
I loved the locations—Appalachian, TN to NYC.
I loved finding joy in the unexpected like puppeteering.
I loved witnessing a great love.
I loved being reminded to choose greatness even when life feels like a sour lemon.
I loved this book!
