Author Cindy Steel is my go-to for witty banter and oh the delicious banter in this one! I love when author’s use a multi media format and the texting and secret soda notes between these characters were my favorite.
This one starts so clever with Nora on a dating app date at a basketball game with a horrible match. But, Nora has zero expectations because dating isn’t for her. She’s had a front row seat to watching her mother’s love life implode over and over again. And she wants no part of that. Fortunately, the night is saved with a friendly seat neighbor, a kiss cam, and night of silly fun.
Nora’s life hasn’t been easy or gone the path she hoped for, but she’s determined claw her way out without help. I loved her tenacity.
“It’s not your problem to fix.” {…} “But I want it to be, he said softly. {…} But even if that never happens, I wanted you to have someone in your corner. Everybody needs help sometimes. It doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you.”
Rating: Easy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I binge read this and I’m ready to read it again. Duke is totally your next book boyfriend. I loved the character growth for both of of these characters. I loved how much they cared for each other and wanted the best for each other just because, not because they were dating or heading in that direction. They were both just good people. Cindy writes good people; characters you care about and root for. I highly recommend this author. Order a copy of this book, it comes out tomorrow the 16th. Then when you’re done read my favorite holiday book also by this author, Faking Christmas.
