As soon as I finished I Malibu Rising, I immediately started this one. You see . . . I love author Taylor Jenkins Reid’s writing, own all her books, but haven’t actually read them! #nochill So many people have told me to read this one. Feel free to chime in “I told you so”. I can handle it.
Evelyn is a retired, reclusive, Hollywood movie icon. She’s finally ready for a tell all about her glamorous and scandalous life. But she raises a lot of eyebrows when she chooses and unknown magazine reporter, Monique Grant.
Monique life is going nowhere. Her husband left her and her professional life is not where she wants it to be. So regardless of why Evelyn selected her she would be a fool to turn it down. She is determined to use this opportunity to jump start her stalled career.
Monique is summoned to Evelyn’s luxurious Manhattan apartment and listens in utter fascination as Evelyn zigs and zags through LA and the 50s all the way to the 80s and her seven husbands. Evelyn shares ruthless ambition, unexpected friendships, and a great forbidden love. After spending so much time with Evelyn and her stories Monique begins to feel a real connection to Evelyn and is shocked when she finds out they actually do have a connection and there was a reason she was hand selected for this assignment!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ TJR has such a unique way of writing and a telling a story. She is so talented in creating characters that are anything but ordinary and that you can’t help but like. I loved the glitz and glam of this book! If you’re way behind like me and haven’t read this one, you definitely should! You won’t be dissappointed!
