📖 Book Tour Review 📖 Title: The Sweetheart List Author: Jill Shalvis Publisher: Avon @avonbooks Genre: Contemporary Women’s Romance Book Hug. Feel Good. Heart & Humor. Character Depth & Growth. Surprise Twist. Secrets. Ok, maybe the intended story pivot and twist is easy to pick up on, but I promise it wasn’t any less enjoyable. This whole book ticked so many boxes I look for in this genre and I’m kicking myself for taking so long to pick up a book by this author again. When I logged this one on @goodreads I did find it to be listed as the fourth book in the ’Sunrise Cove’ series, but it definitely reads as a standalone. Thank you to @bibliolifestyle and the publisher @avonbooks for the #gifted copy and having me along on this book tour!
When Harper’s life unravels and falls apart, she decides to remove everything that doesn’t make her happy; beginning with her never ending lists and a soul sucking job that she doesn’t even like! To up the ante she decides to move to the last true place she was ever really happy, Lake Tahoe. There she plans to open a bakery with some inheritance money.
When she arrives to her leased building there is a note to come next door to the bar for the keys. And of course, a grumpy sexy man, Bodie has them.. But, this isn’t their first meeting. When Harper was almost to town, she slid off the road and Bodie offered to help her. With a new lease on life, she gave him the brush off. Girl power and all that.
These two characters with interesting pasts begin to guide a lovely story along, but then boom a teenage runaway comes knocking on Harpers door and she can’t help but take her in.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 I really loved this book! The characters are fantastic! I’m obsessed with romance books where the male lead has a big family and a bunch of rough and tough brothers. The ultimate message of this book is that it’s never too late to start your life over and figure things out and that’s something I can get behind. Also, to not give up on love both romantically and within your family. Put this one on your summer #tbr
Short Review: It has a dog and a bakery…need I say more 🤣🤣
