How about a few romance mini-reviews for the upcoming Valentine’s Weekend!?

▪️The Slow Burn by Ali Rosen - I read this on kindle unlimited. A summer in Italy, delicious food, a Nonna, and sweet little love story? Yes, please. This very much feels like an adult coming-of-age where after some unexpected events (a fire in a chef’s restaurant and a break-up) give you the opportunity to slow down, reset, and take the time to see if the path you are on, your goals, dreams, relationships, and more are truly what you want out of life. An easy read and while predictable, sometimes that what you want and need! 4 stars.

▪️Honestly I’m Totally Faking It by Amanda Gambill - I’ve seen this indie published book (2022) around before and well received, but honestly, I didn’t love the cover and assumed that would carry over to the words on the page. Needing a new audiobook to read, I downloaded this one off of Hoopla thanks to my library. I couldn’t have been more wrong! I loved this one! A binge-able read of multi beloved tropes—grumpy/sunshine, fake dating, and a workplace romance. Filled with optimism, humor, chemistry, and swoony moments! 4.5 stars.

▪️One & Only by Maurene Goo - Thank you @prhaudio for the gifted copy! It’s narrated by Jeena Yi who I thought was quite enjoyable. I’m going to be completely honest. Despite this being a @readwithjenna and @bookofthemonth February Pick, I took it off my TBR because I thought it had a love triangle—WHICH I HATE! (Only thing worse than love triangles is poor communication, but I digress…) While yes, it does have two love interests, they are technically never at the same time. It also utilizes a magical realism like aspect with Korean folklore—face reading and soulmates/matchmaking, blurring the love triangle lines. I loved all of these characters, even the secondary characters really shined. Golden retriever energy, slight age gap, and chemistry galore. Give this one a shot! 4.5 stars.

All of these books have a few spicy scenes, but nothing over the top.
