FIVE STAR FAVORITE
{Thank you @macmillan.audio for the gifted audiobook of Good Joy, Bad Joy by Mikki Brammer. It’s dual narrated by Kimberly M. Wetherrell & Maggie Meg Reed, and friends, I binged this one!}
Short Review: Mikki Brammer is 2 for 2 for me. I LOVED her debut—The Collected Regrets of Clover—and dare I say that I loved Good Joy, Bad Joy even more!?
Long Review: Main character, Joy, has my whole heart. If you’ve been around my page for any length of time, you know I have such a soft spot for older characters in books. They are my love language; my kind of energy! But, Mikki didn’t just write a special main character, Joy’s best friend Hazel was a delight too. Complete opposites, but those are some of the best kind of relationships in life.
At its core this is a book about friendship, self-discovery, and living life to the fullest. Joy may have been 89, but she proves it’s never too late to start over, to get off the track you’re on, or to decide you don’t have to be who your parent’s molded you to be.
Funny. Emotional. Heartwarming. I can’t recommend this one enough! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
