☘️ March Book Club Picks ☘️
It’s the 1st of the month! It’s time for new book picks!
Your @bookfriendsbookclub hosts @bigskybooks and @mommaleighellensbooknook are back with two picks from our favorite genre this month. We have two Historical Fiction books from eras that don’t get explored often enough that we’re pretty excited about.
☘️ First up is The American Daughters by Maurice Carlos Ruffin:
The American Daughters is a gripping historical novel about a spirited girl, Ady, who joins a sisterhood—the clandestine society of spies called the Daughters—working to undermine the Confederates. It’s a novel of hope and triumph that reminds us what is possible when a community bands together to fight for their freedom. The story takes place in the French Quarter of New Orleans where the author is also from! @mauriceruffin @oneworldbooks This book is out now! We have a Discord Chat + Author Q&A Zoom lined up for Sunday, March 24th.
☘️ Our second book is The Berlin Letters by Katherine Reay:
The Berlin Letters is a Cold War novel that takes readers to the heart of Berlin to witness both the early and final days of the Berlin Wall. It’s an unforgettable tale of a CIA code breaker, Luisa, who risks everything to free her father from an East German prison. It’s impeccably researched and Monday we will be having a spoiler free chat with the author on @mommaleighellensbooknook page to learn more and about the book. Then the author will be back again at the beginning of April (4/7) to zoom with us after we’ve read the book. @katherinereay @harpermusebooks Out Tuesday March 5th.
