One Last Summer - Book Review

Title: One Last Summer

Author: Kate Spencer

Publisher: Forever

Genre: Contemporary Fiction

Thank you @booksparks (#SRC2024 #GameSetRead) for the #gifted copy of One Last Summer by Kate Spencer. This is the perfect book for your summer reading list. It’s filled with summer nostalgia galore.

Did you go to summer camp as a kid? I went to a field hockey camp one summer, but I wasn’t a regular yearly camper like a lot kids are. Regardless, this one still gave me summer nostalgia vibes with Clara and her summer camp friends. If you don’t find the summer camp relatable, I think a lot of us will relate to the main character, Clara. She’s dealing with burnout at work, so her boss sends her on a week long sabbatical. So where does Clara go? To Pine Lake Camp! Her friends still meet up their yearly, but Clara hasn’t been for five years.

What should be a fun time has the tone change when they all arrive to camp and find out it’s being sold! Add to that, Clara will have to face her biggest camp competitor and the boy who kissed her at camp and stole her heart, Mack. They decide to do all their camp favorites one last time:

⛺️Campfires

⛺️Swimming Races

⛺️Capture the Flag

⛺️Friendship Bracelets

⛺️Relays

⛺️Dessert Party

⛺️Truth or Dare

⛺️Boat Wishes

“But you have been everything else on the list too. Joy, and fun, and sometimes scary. I made a list of things I wanted for myself when I was fifteen, and you check every single box.”

Humor. Sweetness. Loads of Fun. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
