📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚
Title: The Dinner List
Author: Rebecca Serle
Publisher: Flatiron Books
Genre: Women’s Fiction
I love book clubs and buddy reads! But when a book club reads a book that has been on my shelf forever, even better! I loved Rebecca’s book In Five Years and was so glad to be finally reading this one. I found The Dinner List to be a fast read and worthy of more than the average 3.5 rating it’s sitting at on Good Reads. This one is a gem, IMO!
Have you played the game before which five people living or dead would you like to have dinner with? What if that dinner actually happened!?
When Sabrina arrives at her 30th birthday dinner she finds some unexpected guests . . . her best friend. A best friend from college who has gotten married and had a child and she’s sort of drifted apart from. Her favorite professor from college. Her dad who was never in her life. Audrey Hepburn. And her ex-boyfriend Tobias who she had a decade long love affair with.
The book goes back and forth between the dinner and Sabrina’s time in college, meeting Tobias, and their love affair.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 This was masterful storytelling for me. I was engaged the entire time. Some other reviews I’ve read state that this book is depressing or Sabrina and Tobias together are toxic, but I didn't feel that way and could overlook it all for the zigzag perfection story telling. I loved it. If you haven’t read this one yet, give it a shot! I can’t wait to read the author's next book, One Italian Summer this March!
