—FIRST LINE FRIDAY—

“You knew I’d write a book about you someday.”

I don’t know about you, but a great first line immediately hooks me to a story!

{Thank you @groveatlantic for the #gifted copy of Heart the Lover by Lily King + the goodies to go with it.  The tissues were spot.on!!!}

Have you read author Lily King before?  Her unique storytelling and talent is unparalleled.  She is lyrical and incredibly insightful.  This book is just under 250 pages and every word and sentence is carefully calculated.  Nothing is wasted—it packs a punch!  Her characters are so well developed.

How can I tell you what this one is about without giving too much away!?  Hmmm . . .  It’s core themes are friendships, love and the lasting impact of your first love.  It’s incredibly unique that we don’t know the narrators true name until the last sentence of the story!

Heart the Lover tells the story of three characters who meet in a writing course their senior year of college.  The time in your life that is so pivotal.  These characters drift apart and come back together.  This story felt very true to life and how connections and experiences shape us.

I know I’m not saying a lot, but you just need to experience this one.  Worth it!
