Title: King of Ashes
Author: S.A. Cosby
Publisher: Flatiron Books (Pine & Cedar)
Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller
{Thank you @flatiron_books + @macmillan.audio for the #gifted copies of King of Ashes by S.A. Cosby. The audiobook is once again narrated by Adam Lazarre-White. These two are a dream team and Mr. Lazarre-White’s narration just elevates Cosby’s characters SO MUCH!}
He’s back! If you were to look up S.A. Cosby in the dictionary next to his name would be GRITTY! He has such a unique style readers have come to know and love. King of Ashes is no different, but dare I say it’s a little grittier and darker than usual!? It’s certainly not for the faint of heart!
Thrilling. Gripping. Shocking.
Cosby has a gift of writing a thriller that somehow feels lyrical too! I’m always surprised how much I’m tabbing up his books! Rooting for characters in a thriller can sometimes be rare, but his characters show a very vulnerable side to them.
“We love our parents not because they are perfect but because they persevere despite their imperfections. We fall short of grace, but the beauty lives in the attempt.”
This book feels a little different because a lot of the mystery and problem solving of the story is laid out in the very beginning.
-Siblings Roman, Neveah, and Dante’s mother has been missing since childhood
-Their father just was in an accident. Or was it!?
-Dante has gotten himself involved with drugs and some local criminals; possibly gangs
So big brother, Roman, begrudgingly comes home to help. Roman is good with number and works in finance. What he does sounds an awful lot like insider trading. 😂
This book has quite the ending! And I couldn’t stop reading until I got there!
“Karma is what comes back to you for what you done. Getting what you deserve is just what finds you eventually.”
“Some things end up in the gutter where they belong.”
Out TODAY 6/10 and what’s sure to be a summer blockbuster!
❓S.A. Cosby fans…Did you catch the Easter Egg from Razorblade Tears!?
